ABOUT THE P2P GO CARD

What is the P2P Go Card and who can apply?
The P2P Go Card is a prepaid card that allows you to conveniently receive your South African VAT refunds without the need for costly and time-consuming international bank transfers. It is available to non-resident visitors who have submitted a valid VAT refund claim in South Africa.

How do I receive my VAT refund on the P2P Go Card, and how long does it take?
You will only be able to use your P2P Go Card once SARS has approved your VAT refund claim and your supporting documentation is in order. After approval, the refund will be paid directly onto your card. Processing times depend on SARS and may take several weeks.

Where can I use the P2P Go Card, and are there restrictions?
The P2P Go Card can be used worldwide at merchants, ATMs, and online platforms that accept Visa/Mastercard. Funds cannot be spent in South Africa — the card is designed exclusively for international use once you have left the country.

How long is the P2P Go Card valid?
The P2P Go Card is valid for 5 years from the date of issue. Expiry details are printed on the card.
